Science to sleep well

I had the opportunity of learning the art of sleeping well and science behind it from my yoga and Spiritual guru Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev  of Isha Yoga which has helped me to eradicate the stress and anxiety and to wake up energetically.


I am putting the steps which will hopefully help you too to have a good sleep and have a better health.

Don’t sleep right after you eat.

When eat meat or other kinds of food, you need at least 3 to 4 hours gap before you go to sleep, so that the digestion system is taken care of.

Before going to bed take a certain quantity of water which will help to streamline the digestive system better.

Take a shower before going to sleep.

It will make a lot difference. If you are from cold places or having cold weather go for lukewarm water bath not hot water bath.

Initially, after the shower, it might alert your body system but after 20 or 30 minutes, when you go to sleep, you will sleep better.

Shower helps in relaxing your muscles from stress and anxiety. It is just not about cleaning the skin.

Light a lamp with any organic oil with cotton wick. Burn a little lamp somewhere in the room.

If you know any yogic practice, you can do it before going to sleep. If you are not aware of it, you can download a simple Kriya which is very effective and you can download ‘Isha Kriya’ free from the net.

Don’t put your head on the north side and sleep, as the magnetic pull will make the blood to rush to your head in the process imbalance your whole body.

If you are mentally getting disturbed it will make things worse.

Before you go to bed visualize whether your last 24 hours has been worthwhile in enhancing your life.

If you keep doing this every day, you live more worthwhile life.

Last 3 minutes of going to sleep, keep all your thoughts, even the smallest one and your relationship aside and sleep.

If you sleep in that condition you will wake up with much more light and more energy with better possibilities to handle life.

Now, let’s look into the steps you can do when you wake up.

Don’t keep alarm. Come awake to soft music which will soothe your mind. Don’t use any jarring music.

Go to bed early the previous night so that you will come awake naturally in the morning with more energy.

When you get up rub your hands and place it on your eyes. Lots of nerve ending are there on your hands which gets activated and your system will come awake immediately.

When you wake up roll on the right side and get up.

Wake up with smile. There are couple of million people don’t wake up from their life every day morning.

If you see more of your dear ones awake, come awake with bigger smile.

Keep in mind the above steps have helped millions to people to not only have good sleep but come out of their psychological disturbance and physiological problems.
